Workshop 2: Integrated Geothermal Modeling – Modern Workflows and Case Studies

Date: Friday, October 25, 2024
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Room: King's 2 (Grand Ballroom)

Description

Optimizing a geothermal development requires a robust understanding of the resource throughout its life cycle. Combining insights from geology, geochemistry, geophysics, reservoir and facilities engineering, this workshop provides a step-by-step guide on how to execute a holistic geothermal asset development workflow. This workshop will also focus on how digital technologies can assist in breaking down silos between multi-faceted disciplines, improve collaboration, and positively impact asset generation, and commercial outcomes.

Attendees will learn about the theory behind the technology as well as its direct application. They will also be provided with global examples of where the demonstrated workflows have been applied successfully.

1.Multi-Disciplinary 3D Geomodeling

Build a robust conceptual model of your geothermal resource by dynamically integrating geological, geophysical, and other geoscience data.

Develop digital workflows that focus on effective data management and enhance best practices through end-to-end collaboration. (Leapfrog Energy, Oasis montaj, and Central)

2. Contextual Reservoir Simulation

Create a comprehensive digital workflow that considers the integrated analysis of geological sub-domains and uses numerical modeling, including coupled reservoir/wellbore/surface network simulations.

Simulate the reservoir response to development scenarios, including forecasts of well decline rates, make-up well requirements, and steam supply. (Volsung & Leapfrog Energy)

Lunch and break service are included in the workshop registration fees ($575).
