Distributed temperature, strain, acoustic, and pressure sensing (DxS) are cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize the way we monitor and analyze temperature, acoustic, and pressure signals over large distances. Unlike traditional sensors, DxS utilizes optical fibers as sensitive elements, transforming them into continuous, high-resolution, and distributed sensors. This innovative approach opens a wide range of applications across various industries among which the geothermal industry.

This workshop intends to focus on the various applications fiber optic offers and how they can be leveraged in the field of geothermal energy. Case studies will be used to highlight the DxS measurements and their applications in different operational environments. Discussing the current limitations and need for future developments will be encouraged.
