Laboratory Program Manager for Geothermal
Dr. Amanda Kolker has over 15 years of professional experience as a geothermal geologist, with expertise in resource exploration and sustainable production for heat and power. With a background in volcanology and geochemistry, Dr. Kolker has worked in academia, government, and private industry in the United States and abroad. She joined NREL in 2019 as a research scientist working on innovative geothermal technologies and end uses, with a focus on resilience and novel development models. She has managed NREL’s geothermal program since 2022 and serves in that role as a thought leader in renewable energy strategy and integration efforts at NREL.
