Dayo Akindipe
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Research Scientist
Dayo is a subsurface energy systems research scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) leading projects on techno-economic modeling and analysis of geothermal energy, subsurface storage systems, and geologic hydrogen. With a background in chemical and petroleum engineering, his research and professional interests lie within the subsurface energy, water, and sustainability nexus. He has previously spearheaded cutting-edge pore-scale research on coupled hydrodynamic-chemical processes that influence the flow and transport of CO2 during storage in sedimentary reservoirs. Prior to that, he worked in the oil and gas industry as an engineer and a management consultant on multiple projects including those aimed at reducing carbon emissions on offshore production platforms.
