Geothermal Program Manager

Prof. Dr. Eva Schill leads the Geothermal Systems Program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She is geologist and holds a doctoral degree in Geophysics. Her scientific background is geothermal exploration and monitoring. She has about 20 years of experience in geothermal technologies and heat storage. She worked in low-temperature hydrothermal projects in Switzerland and Germany as well as EGS in Europe and Iceland. She led the Geothermal Laboratory in the Crystalline Basement (GeoLaB), an underground research laboratory under construction in Germany, as well as the high-temperature heat storage project DeepStor. At Berkeley Lab she recently works on the significance of hydrothermal alteration for aseismic deformation as well as on project dealing with lithium extraction from brines.
