Ximena is an environmental engineer from the National Agrarian University (UNALM) in Peru with a Master's in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the Iceland School of Energy at Reykjavik University in Iceland. She has thirteen years of experience in developing environmental studies and regulations for Peru's energy, production, and environmental sectors. Her main studies were related to surface and subsurface geothermal exploration and reservoir engineering, conducting research in numerical models for geothermal reservoirs. She is a PhD student working on the “Geoejector project” at Reykjavik University in Iceland and a professor in the Department of Energy and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) in Peru.
